Ramos says he has been fascinated by butterflies since he was a child. The preserved creatures he uses have been donated by fans around the world.

"On each butterfly I paint the most famous works considered masterpieces because I believe butterflies are part of nature, which is God's creation and the most beautiful work of art that exists," he said. "I painted the Mona Lisa that to me is one of my favorites. Butterflies are always related to women or female beauty and it seemed perfect to bring these two elements, butterfly and woman, together and the result was beautiful".
