There was reportedly a spike in the number of Chinese tourists in Seattle after the movie was released, and that enthusiasm is unlikely to abate anytime soon, with a sequel on the way in 2016.

If there is one person who commands utmost attention, even awe, from the newly affluent Chinese, it is Bill Gates. If he opened up his residence in Seattle for public tours, a la Hearst Castle, I bet Chinese would be the largest contingent of visitors. It has been reported that the Chinese who inquire about buying property in the Pacific Northwest often ask about the possibility of living close to the Microsoft founder - Raymond Zhou.
