The China National Tourism Administration recently announced it would further promote tourism for poverty alleviation.

Tourism for poverty alleviation is a significant part of the country's poverty alleviation campaign, which is also the important driving force for building a well-off society in an all-round way.

According to the announcement, tourism for poverty alleviation has now stepped into a crucial stage of precise implementation, taking advantage of the tourism resources in impoverished areas to help people escape poverty.

Tourism for poverty alleviation should focus on innovation and social participation, in order to give impetus to poverty alleviation. The development of tourism in impoverished regions should be propelled in an all-round way, in order to increase the incomes of impoverished residents.

Local tourism departments should launch a series of targeted tourism poverty alleviation projects according to the actual situation in local areas, and scientifically guide the utilization of tourism resources, tourism product development and tourism brand building in impoverished regions. A long-term, stable and reasonable profit distribution mechanism should be established to help lift the impoverished population permanently out of poverty.
