During his brief stay for a solo exhibition in Paris in 2016, Shanghai painter Yang Yulong created dozens of watercolor works which captured the city's day-to-day beauty that entice international visitors like Yang.

He is now showing a selection of these paintings, along with other oil works, at a one-man show at the Ici Labas gallery inside Beijing's 798 art district. The exhibition runs through April 20.

"These instant, seemingly ordinary moments depicted in my paintings are like the sunlight, which reveal to us the various dimensions of life and encourage us to find the energy that will navigate us through hardships," Yang said.
