China, Russia to target cross-border crime
China and Russia will enhance law enforcement cooperation to target cross-border crimes, Chinese authorities said on Tuesday.
The comprehensive strategic partnership of both countries has made a continuous, healthy and stable development and they will face a new opportunity to strengthen cooperation in the field of security, including counter-terrorism and cyber crimes, Guo Shengkun, chief of the Committee for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
On Monday, Guo and his counterparts from the Russian security department held a key meeting in Moscow, capital in Russia, during which they came to some consensus.
Guo said law enforcement security cooperation is a major issue between China and Russia and the countries will deepen judicial cooperation to cope with cross-border safety threats, such as terrorist attacks, cyber crimes and drug-related crimes, to maintain regional safety and stability.
According to the Russian side, the relationship between China and Russia has developed smoothly and they are willing to work closely with China to deal with various challenges.
