BEIJING - Chinese Vice-Premier Han Zheng Tuesday met with senior officials and the prosecutor general of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), regarding the comprehensive and accurate implementation of the "one country, two systems" policy and the basic law of the SAR.

Han, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said they should unwaveringly safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests.

He said they should actively pursue development, advance harmony, and firmly maintain lasting prosperity and stability in Macao.

The officials should work diligently to help integrate Macao's own development into the overall development of the country, and seek benefits for the people, Han said.

Han also spoke of the achievements made by the incumbent government of Macao in pursuing long-term development while uniting and leading people from all walks of life to consolidate prosperity and stability in the region.

The Macao officials and the prosecutor general are in Beijing for training.
