The Museum of Broken Relationships

After relationships hit a dead-end street, gifts and mementoes that were once treasured and carefully kept may wind up in dustbins or being burnt to ashes. Now, a newly opened museum in London tries to immortalize these mementoes, be they funny, sad or just plain bizarre.

The Museum of Broken Relationships is an exhibition of romantic mementoes, donated by "brokenhearted” contributors from all over the world. Exhibits range from teddy bears, love letters and a collection of Marcel Proust's novels to rather more unusual artifacts, such as handcuffs and an axe used to smash a former girlfriend's furniture.
