Wang Ruoju, a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, came to Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, in 2015, to start her own business: selling plus-size clothes.
Wang weighs only about 40 kg. However, her mother, who weighs 75 kg, found it difficult to get suitable clothes. In order to solve her mom's problem, Wang opened a shop on Taobao, China's biggest online shopping platform, selling plus-size clothes.
Wang has a partner, a man who is also a PhD like her. In their words, they are engaged in R&D and their office is full of research studies. However, they have the same target: making plus-size girls more beautiful.
