Merkel paid a visit to Shenzhen on May 25, 2018 as part of her 11th visit to China.

Her visit to Shenzhen, at the forefront of China's reform and opening-up, is an indication of Germany's positive attitude about getting involved with China's new round of reform and deeper opening-up.

The two countries have vast space for cooperation in the fields of digitalization, new energy business and auto-pilot vehicles.
