The China-US relationship is now at a critical juncture, and the two sides should promote its stable development through implementing the consensus reached by the two leaders of state, ramping up communication and cooperation, while properly addressing differences.

The remarks were made by Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai at a working lunch hosted by US Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan in Washington on Thursday.

Cui reiterated China's principled stance on Taiwan-related issues and urged the US side to adhere to the one-China policy and honor the commitments it made in the three joint communiqués, and handle Taiwan-related issues properly.
