Russian player Kuznetsova claims Washington Open women's singles title

WASHINGTON - Two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia staged a remarkable comeback to win the Washington Open title on Sunday, fending off four match points in the second set to defeat No.7 seed Donna Vekic of Croatia 4-6, 7-6(7), 6-2.
It's her second Washington Open title after winning it for the first time in 2014.
Kuznetsova, a former world number two, is now ranked 128th and the Washington title is her first title in two years.
