News portal iFeng.com, mobile app, WAP temporarily suspended


Some channels of news portal iFeng.com, its mobile app and WAP website were temporarily suspended and ordered to rectify violations that include headline distortion and transferring information that may misguide netizens, according to a statement by the Beijing cyberspace regulator on its WeChat account.
Instructed by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Cyberspace Administration of Beijing summoned iFeng.com management for a talk on Wednesday.
iFeng.com's news and finance channels were ordered to suspend service from 3 pm Wednesday to 3 pm on Oct 10, while the science channel will stop updating until 3 pm on Oct 26.
Its mobile app and WAP website were ordered to halt from 3 pm Wednesday to 3 pm on Oct 10.
Those in charge of iFeng.com said that the company realizes the seriousness of the problems and a strict rectification plan will be conducted as required.
