WASHINGTON -- Republican Senator Susan Collins, a key swing vote for the fate of President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, said on Friday that she will support the confirmation in the upcoming final floor vote in the Senate.

Kavanaugh is facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

Meanwhile, Collins slammed that the confirmation process "looks more like a caricature of a gutter-level political campaign."

"Our Supreme Court confirmation process has been in steady decline for more than 30 years. One can only hope that the Kavanaugh nomination is where the process has finally hit rock bottom." she said.
