China National Theater for Children's last new drama of 2018, The See-Saw Tree will premiere at China Children Art Theater on Dec 22 as a new year's gift for children.

The See-Saw Tree is an original drama written by David Wood, an English writer whom The Timescalled "the National Children's Dramatist". This time, artists from China and Britain will cooperate to reproduce the classic drama on the Chinese stage.

British dramatist Adam Stafford and Chinese director Mao Ernan will jointly direct this drama.

By discussing whether to cut down a 300-year-old oak, the drama promotes environmental protection with vivid performance.

According to Yin Xiaodong, the president of CNTC, introducing foreign classic works symbolizes CNTC's broad-mindedness and cultural confidence.

"I hope we can maintain its original style as a British drama, and also show Chinese artists' understanding of this work," said Yin.
