Chinese artist Li Zi uses gray and black as the main colors of her palette to render her paintings majesty and spirituality. Amd ger works transmit either a powerful or a mystic feeling.

Her current exhibition at the Palais Vivienne in Paris showcases oil paintings, installations and video works in which she uses the grayish and black tones to salute German artist Anselm Kiefer whose works inspire her.

But her works are not filled with a sorrowful sentiment about war that dominate Kiefer’s output; rather, they embrace ultimate joys which one can feel in classic Greek and Roman artworks.
