SHENZHEN - Airbus China Innovation Centre (ACIC) and Royole Corporation will explore applications of flexible electronic technologies in aircraft development, according to Airbus China Thursday.

In the latest strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by ACIC and Royole, both sides will jointly develop applications of flexible electronic technologies for aircraft and other commercial cooperations, including flexible displays and flexible cabin sensors.

They will also work to develop applications for the cabin environment, aiming to improve cabin safety and energy conservation to create a more digitalized and personalized flight experience for passengers.

"China is a surging power of global innovation. Airbus is embracing the innovative talents and inspiration of China, which are crucial for our win-win cooperation," said George Xu, CEO of Airbus China.

The Shenzhen-based Airbus China Innovation Centre is the first innovation center of Airbus in Asia, aiming to fully leverage innovative talents, partners and the eco-system of China and the world.

Founded in 2012, Royole Corporation develops next-generation human-machine interface technologies and products including advanced flexible displays, flexible sensors, and smart devices.

Flexible electronic technologies are thin, lightweight, flexible and bendable, providing unique functionality and new applications. They also have a high color saturation for stunning image clarity and quality.
