Voting for the 2023 Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition starts

Bridging cultures with calligraphy and painting. The voting and judging for the 2023 Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe-Calligraphy and Painting Challenge has started.

The challenge has attracted a total of 1,146 entries from 1,084 valid contestants in 86 countries. The final works chosen by a panel of judges will be posted and exhibited on the official event page of the Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe-Calligraphy and Painting Challenge (http://bridge.chinese.cn/shz2023/), in the Chinese Bridge WeChat subscription account, and in a special column of China Daily Website.

Grand Prize

One in the Calligraphy Group and one in the Painting Group.

Individual Prizes

The Calligraphy and Painting Groups will be assessed in separately. Three Best Technique Awards, three Best Presentation Awards, three Most Creative Awards, three Most Potential Awards, three Network Popularity Awards and three Self-media Popularity Awards will be awarded for each group.

The Organizing Committee for the challenge will invite experts in calligraphy, painting, and education of the Chinese language, as well as media industry specialists to judge the shortlisted entries and select the winners of the Grand Prize, Best Technique Awards, Best Presentation Awards, Most Creative Awards, and Most Potential Awards, for both calligraphy and painting groups.ese educator, and media industry specialist to judge the shortlisted entries and pick up the winners of the Best Skill awards, Best Presentation awards, Most Creative awards, and Most Potential awards, for both calligraphy and painting groups.

Calligraphy works are examined for their content, accuracy, stroke arrangement, composition and layout. In case of comparable levels of calligraphy, works with content relevant to the theme of this challenge will have priority for inclusion or award. Paintings are reviewed for their color, structure, intention, creativity, and novelty of content. The contents of painting and calligraphy vlogs should be positive and in line with the theme.

Online Popularity Awards

The three works with the most likes in the Chinese Bridge WeChat subscription account and on the event page of the "Chinese Bridge" Calligraphy and Painting Challenge will win the Online Popularity Award;

Time for voting: 12 pm, Dec 15 - 12 pm, Dec 22, 2023 (Beijing Time);

Use the WeChat App to swipe the QR Code or search for the Chinese Bridge WeChat subscription account, then click on the "voting for the calligraphy and painting challenge" button on its menu to enter the voting page;

After entering the voting page, click on the "calligraphy and painting works" button at the bottom of the page to find your favorite participants and their works, then click on the "vote" button to show your support;

You may also vote on the official event page of the 2023 Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe-Calligraphy and Painting Challenge (http://bridge.chinese.cn/shz2023/).

A single user can vote only once within one minute and can only give no more than three votes on each platform each day during the voting period. The total number of votes will be determined by the votes on the official event pages for the Calligraphy and Painting Challenge as well as the votes on the Chinese Bridge WeChat subscription account.

Social Media Popularity

AwardsContestants can post their works on their personal accounts on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Weibo.

The total number of the likes for an entry will be determined by the single posts with the most likes on Facebook, Instagram, and Weibo.

The three works with the most likes from all three platforms for both calligraphy and painting groups will win the Social Media Popularity Award.

Deadline for sending your likes: 12 pm, Dec 22, 2023 (Beijing Time).

Posts made by institutional organizations and schools, as well as those made by teachers, will not be valid for count. For minors without accounts, posts can be made on their behalf on their parents' accounts.

Instagram: Post your work on your personal account with the hashtag #汉语桥书画展 & #BridgingCultures. Follow and tag @chinesebridge2002.

Weibo: Post your work on your personal account with the hashtag #汉语桥书画展# & #BridgingCultures#. Follow and tag @汉语桥.

After posting, you need to send a private message to "Chinese Bridge" Facebook/Instagram/Weibo to register your name, country and title of your entry.

All awards for the winners of the 2023 Calligraphy and Painting Challenge will be announced by the end of December 2023.
