China's stocks rise Monday

BEIJING - Chinese stocks advanced for a fourth consecutive day Monday, led by strong water project-related shares on outlook of increased government investment.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.38 percent, or 37.94 points, to 2,790.69 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 0.84 percent, or 100.46 points, to 11,994.68 points.
