Mainland, Taiwan negotiate on financial co-op

TAIPEI - Liu Mingkang, head of the mainland's banking regulator, and his counterpart in Taiwan Chen Yuh-Chang held their first official negotiation on Monday to set up detailed regulations for cross-Strait financial cooperation.

It is the first time for the mainland and Taiwan to hold talks on financial cooperation after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cross-Strait Banking Supervision Cooperation in 2009.
