China's Himin Solar Co Ltd launched the world's first roof-installed solar high-temperature steam system for industrial utilization, the company said in a press release on May 7.

Adopting the company's latest solar concentrating technology -- the Linear Fresnel Reflector -- the system is able to provide industrial heat between 100 and 250 degrees centigrade.

Installed on the roof of a plant, the system can help to save land space as well as investment and operation costs.

The Shandong-based Himin is the world's largest solar water heater manufacturer.
