Chinese shares open slightly lower Tuesday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares opened slightly lower Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.31 percent to open at 2,766.06.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.33 percent to open at 11,703.64.
