Jiangsu sells more solar cells

East China's Jiangsu province exported 22.34 million solar cells in the first four months of this year, a rise of 390 percent on the same period of last year, according to the local customs house.

The exports were valued at $1.91 billion , up 93.8 percent year-on-year. The average price went down 60.6 percent to $85.5 per unit.

Of the total exports, 60.3 percent, or 13.47 million units, were sold to the European Union, up 250 percent year-on-year.

Between January and April, Jiangsu also sold 3.32 million solar cells to the United States, 2.24 million solar cells to Canada, and 1.62 million to South Africa.
