(China Daily)
State Grid Corp of China, the country's largest power distributor, is asking smart grids to absorb 60 gigawatts (gW) of wind and 5 gW of solar power by 2015 to boost China's utilization of clean energy nationwide.
"We are currently able to meet the demand for at least 20 gW of wind power," Shen Jiang, deputy director of the power distributor's smart-grid division, said on Thursday. "We'll adjust the absorption-ability goal once the nation raises clean-energy installation targets."
