BEIJING - Changan PSA Automobile Co., Ltd. will recall 2,124 vehicles beginning Monday due to a defect in the fuel pump cover that could lead to oil leaks, China's consumer quality watchdog said.
The DS5 vehicles produced domestically from Dec. 2, 2013 to Jan. 23, 2014 will be recalled, according to a statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said Monday.
The vehicle's fuel pump cover may fail to work and lead to the loosening of the fuel pump resulting in oil leaks in extreme conditions, the AQSIQ statement said.
The company will check the recalled vehicles and replace flawed parts for free.
Established in November 2011 and based in the city of Shenzhen, Changan PSA is a joint venture created by Chinese carmaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Group and French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen Group.
