How do you spend your weekend amid your busy schedule?
What I enjoy most is reading books. However, I also take time out to be with my friends and participate in some kind of sports.
What are your hobbies?
I am an avid basketball fan and enjoy playing and watching the game. I also like music and military history.
What is the quality you most admire in a person or seek in friends?
The quality that I seek most in friends and other people is modest temperament and a consistency in approach.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I am extremely proud of my son Chas and his achievements. But as far as professional achievements go, my greatest moment is yet to come.
Are there any places in China that have impressed you, but you have not been able to visit yet?
China, in its length and breadth, has always fascinated me. But what really stands out is its rich heritage and culture. What I would really like to do is to wander around the streets of Old Shanghai and relive the days of its glory.
What is the best way to break the ice with a Chinese businessman you have met for the first time and how would you describe them in general?
I think the best way to get close to a Chinese businessman is to discuss the country's rich heritage. Most of the Chinese businessmen that I have met are people who are energetic, strategic and highly focused.
