GM Jan sales in China rose 22%

General Motors (GM) sold 268,071 cars in January, marking a year-on-year increase of 22.3 percent, according to a post dated Feb 9 on the website of GM China.

Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd's January sales rose by 46.4 percent year-on-year to hit 131,944 units. SAIC-GM-Wuling's sales reached 132,658 units in January, up by 10.6 percent over the same period of last year.

GM's sales in China increased by 28.8 percent to 2,351,610 vehicles in 2010, while US sales rose by just 6.3 percent to 2,215, 227.
