China helps evacuate 2,100 of 12 countries from Lybia

BEIJING - China helped evacuate 2,100 people of 12 countries from strife-torn Libya, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said at a press conference here Monday.

Yang said the evacuation of more than 35,000 Chinese nationals from Libya was successful, noting it is the largest evacuation of overseas Chinese nationals since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
