Chinese, Bolivian military officials meet on ties

LA PAZ - Ma Xiaotian, Chinese deputy chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army met on Wednesday with Bolivian Defense Minister Ruben Saavedra.

They signed a military agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Bolivian Defense Ministry, the agreement strengthens another one signed two years ago, through which China donated two patrol boats to Bolivia.

The agreement also includes China's donation of logistic communication equipment to Bolivia and exchange of visits by military officials and scholars from both sides.

General Ma arrived in La Paz Tuesday for a visit.
