BEIJING -- China on Wednesday urged a U.S. religious commission to abandon prejudices and stop interfering in China's domestic affairs through issuing reports.

"We urge the so-called 'US Commission on International Religious Freedom' to abandon its prejudices, respect facts and stop intervening in China's domestic affairs by means including issuing reports," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu said in a written statement.

She made the comment in response to the commission's recent release of an annual report on international religious freedom, where China was attacked.

She said the Chinese government guarantees citizens' religious freedom according to the country's laws, and the Chinese people also enjoy complete freedom of religious belief in accordance with laws.
