China's pilotless helicopter to fly in June

China’s "V750" pilotless helicopter performed a successful test flight on Wednesday and will take to the skies in June, the Beijing News reported today.

The ten-minute test flight in Weifang of Shandong Province included a series of moves including advancing, backing off and swerving in the air from a height of three meters to five meters.

The 757-kilogramme helicopter has a maximum load capacity of 80 kilograms, with a maximum speed of 161 kilometers per hour and range of 500 kilometers. It can be remotely controlled as well as piloted by a stored program within a range of 150 kilometers in radius and 3,000 meters high.
