EU, China leaders discuss eurozone debt crisis

BRUSSELS - European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao discussed measures taken by eurozone members to address the lingering debt crisis, an EU spokesman said here on Friday.

"Barroso introduced to Chinese Premier measures Europe has taken to address current economic situation. Premier Wen Jiabao also expressed support for actions and ways in Europe," EU spokesperson Alejandro Ulzurrun de Asanza y Munoz said in a press conference Friday.

He said the two leaders also discussed issues like world economic situation, EU-China relations ahead of a EU-China summit scheduled for October, which aims to "forster growth and address global imbalances," the spokesman said.
