CHANGSHA - A truck driver was detained on Tuesday after he allegedly ran over and killed a policeman in central China's Hunan Province, local government sources said.
The driver, whose name was not given, is suspected of killing Li Xiaofeng, a traffic policeman in Loudi City, at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, according to sources with the Loudi municipal government.
Suspecting the truck was overloaded, Li was trying to inspect the vehicle at a tollgate on a highway in Shuangfeng County when the driver suddenly ran over him, killing Li at the scene, according to the sources.
