Beijing's subway Line 10 will stop operations on Dec 8 for a test run of its new stations, subway authorities said on Sunday.

The first phase of Line 10, from Bagou station in West Beijing to Jinsong Station in East Beijing, started operations in July 2008.

The second phase, from Jinsong station to Bagou station, will help to complete the line and make it another circle line in Beijing.

The second phase of the line is currently going through signal system test runs, and is expected to start operations at the end of the year, according to Beijing Subway, the State-owned company in charge of the capital city's metro system.

Line 10's service time will also be shortened by three hours on Dec 5, with the time of the final train brought forward by three hours, the company said.

The capital will boost its transport capacity on Dec 5 and Dec 8 to meet the increased demand. A total of 47 key bus lines that share partial routes with Line 10 will extend their evening rush hour operations, and will shorten departure intervals.
