Many facets of Lantern Festival across China

Villagers in East China's Fujian province carry the statue of Guan Yu, an ancient general of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25-220) and a symbol of harvest to celebrate the Lantern Festival, the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunar calendar, on Feb 23, 2013. A local custom for hundreds of years, people run in the most productive paddy field of the last year on the twelfth and fourteenth day of the first lunar month to pray for a good harvest for the next year.
