A fire killed a couple in their home in the Xiaoshan district of Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province on Monday morning, according to China News Service.
The fire broke out at 3:17 am on the third floor of a residential building and swept through the living room, a bedroom and a washroom, the local fire department said.
The house owner surnamed, Ni and his wife surnamed Li, in their mid-30s, were killed in the inferno.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
It was the second fatal blaze in the district this year after a fire on Jan 1 killed a mother and her three children.
