The first-ever exhibition of Monet on the Chinese mainland opened at Shanghai K11 Art Mall on Friday.
The exhibition - Master of Impressionism: Claude Monet - features 40 original Monet masterpieces including the iconic Water Lily and Wisteria along with 12 original paintings of other impressionist masters from the Paris Marmottan Monet Museum.
The exhibition, which runs from March 8 to June 15, is one of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-French diplomatic ties.
K11 is a shopping mall with abundant luxury brands and artworks on display along the city's bustling Huaihai road.
Xie Dingwei, curator of the exhibition, said he hopes the location will help widen the audience.
Tickets cost 100 yuan ($16.32) per person.
Adrian Cheng, founder and chairman of the K11 Art Foundation, said he hopes the exhibition will encourage the development of Chinese contemporary art and bring it to a broader audience.
A series of academic symposiums, films on Impressionism in modern China, workshops and children's programs will also be held during the exhibition.
