Xinjiang police boost anti-terror tactics

Police from a frontier police station in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region attend an anti-terror drill on Wednesday with a focus on quick use of weapons in emergencies. Since the end of 2013, Xinjiang has launched a three-year campaign in which local police are trained in anti-terror tactics. The campaign is aimed at the local police forces because they are large in number, widespread in the region, and work on the frontlines. The drills are meant to improve the region's overall preparedness and response in such events. [Photo/Chinanews.com]
