A blood donation booth was added to the Eco Design Fair Spring 2014, which was held over the weekend in Shanghai.

The booth was part of a blood donation campaign jointly launched by Shanghai blood authorities and Touchmedia, an in-taxi interactive media company in China.

The eco design fair was the city's first large green consumer community event with the aim of promoting green, safe and healthy lifestyles.

It attracted more than 15,000, who interacted with more than 75 eco-friendly exhibitors, participated in educational workshops and enjoyed live music and local seasonal cuisine.

"I heard about the event from one of my foreign client friends. I donate blood from time to time, and also donated at the event. It's a worthwhile cause. It might save people's lives," said a man surnamed Liang, who works for a creative company in Shanghai.

Micky Fung, the founder and executive chairman of Touchmedia, said, "We have created a combination of red and green, which means we can not only promote green eco idea to the public, but also the loving idea about caring others lives via donating blood."

"We believe that if we get together and continue our efforts, people will realize finally that blood donation is as important as environmental protection, both of which are key positive lifestyles to prolong human lives."
