This photo taken early Saturday morning shows the newly installed anti-collision "golden" guardrails along the Golden Water Bridge in front of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The railings, which are said to be made of high-strength steel, stronger than regular guardrails, are installed to welcome the upcoming 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. They have been installed in many sites around Beijing, including Tiananmen Square, the Great Hall of the People, Chang'an Avenue and the entrances to Zhongnanhai.[Photo/IC] |
