Trainers and sniffer dogs of the frontier police force in the southern Guangdong province participated in competitions and games on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Sunday.

At the event, hero dogs that have been honored for their work were saluted.

The sniffer dogs have participated in more than 20 missions in the past five years, such as the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2010 and the 26th Universiade in Shenzhen in 2011.

In 2013, the animals also took part in the raid on Boshe, which was dubbed the No 1 village for drug production on the mainland.

With the help of sniffer dogs, police have seized more than 200 kilograms of drugs, and four dogs have been honored with rewards.
