"Dogs are like friends and family for a life time; they are not toys which you just throw them away once you lose interest or patience," Sue tips on those who have a dog or want to have a dog.
Born in Vietnam in 1975, Sue migrated to the United States at the age of two with her family.
In 2013, Sue decided to move to Guangzhou, where she met her husband, to open the first vegetarian bakery in China. The cakes Sue makes are made of nuts and free from eggs and animal butter.
While managing the bakery, Sue volunteered at an animal shelter at the same time.
In February 2015, the animal shelter where Sue worked as a volunteer euthanized 31 dogs. "The dogs just need a home not death. No one has the right to take away their lives," Sue said.
In March 2015, Sue rented an obsolete factory and transformed it into a dog shelter with her friends. As of June 2016, there are 25 dogs at Sue's shelter.
Sue admitted it's been hard to manage a bakery business, dog rescue work and family. "I can't do it without the support of my family."
