The Art Taipei 2014 kicked off at the Taipei World Trade Center on October 31. More than 500 artists from 15 countries are taking part in this annual 4-day event.
Formerly known as Taipei Art Fair International, Art Taipei is the longest-standing art fair in Asia, which has been organized by Taiwan Art Gallery Association since 1992.
Art Taipei 2014 has attracted 76 galleries overseas, including those from the US, Britain, Germany and Japan.
This year’s theme, ‘Dear Art’, sees classic works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miró, Zao Wou-ki (Zhao Wuji) and Chu Teh-Chun (Zhu Dequn) displayed alongside avant-garde art, new ink and new media works. More than 3,000 pieces are on display.
