The last section is an ensemble of artworks created by Chinese painter and arts teacher Xu Qiping and her students during her stay in Tanzania in 2015. They portrayed Africa with the techniques of traditional Chinese painting, and presented a harmonious integration of African arts, modern expressionism, and Chinese painting traditions. These bright and innovative paintings give testimony to the direct, fruitful dialogue and cooperation between Chinese and African artists.

African Cultures in Focus 2016 series is an essential part of The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Johannesburg Action Plan (2016-2018). This year, the Ministry of Culture will invite more than 20 African art troupes to perform in more than 10 cities, holding exhibitions, movie screenings, culture lectures to promote cultural communication between China and Africa.
