Chinese celebrate Year of Rooster in Stockholm

The Chinese New Year of the Rooster has been celebrated in grand style at the Stockholm Chinese Cultural Center, with traditional Chinese handicrafts and artworks supplied by the Shandong Art Troupe.

The Spring Festival atmosphere was provided by displays of paper cutting, clay sculpture, calligraphy, folk music and puppet performance, attracting a lot of children and their families.

"The folk music they performed such as A Moonlit Night on the Spring River, Ambush on All Sides and ancient music are all my favorites. Even in China we don't see them played much, so I value it as very precious chance and it was a really masterful performance. It's fantastic." commented Sun Kai who came with her Swedish husband and son.

About 300 people came to the three-hour celebration which was also attended by the Chinese Ambassador Chen Yuming and Counselor Bai Xiaomei.

The center was formally established on September 2, 2016.
