Dancing with the Stars getting 3m makeover

'Dancing with the Stars' is getting a $3 million revamp ahead of its next series.

The ballroom dancing show's studio has had a makeover including triple-tiered balcony-style seating for the audience and a staircase in the middle of the stage, which can split into two halves to reveal the orchestra pit.

According to TMZ.com, producers are also said to be "very excited" about the changes, which also encompass the dancefloor, which will be made into an elevated platform. While this is sure to look spectacular, if any stars fall off they could face a painful drop.

Among the celebrities being tipped to appear on the next series of 'Dancing with the Stars' when it returns in autumn are 'Jersey Shore' star Snooki, movie actress Queen Latifah and 'Saved By The Bell' actress Tiffani-Amber Thiessen.

Reality TV star Rob Kardashian is also being lined up for the show, and will hope to do better than his sister Kim, who was eliminated after just three weeks when she competed in 2008.

Another possible addition to the line-up is George Clooney's ex-girlfriend, Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis, who split from the actor in June.

The last series was won by NFL player Hines Ward and his professional partner Kym Johnson.
