Victoria Beckham has made it loud and clear that her Posh Spice days are firmly behind her, but that's not stopping her former bandmates from indulging in a spot of wishful thinking.
Scary Spice Melanie Brown, 39, reportedly asked the fashion designer to join her in Mexico for an on-screen critique of her X Factor recruits. As part of her new mentoring and judging role on ITV's The X Factor, Leeds-born Brown will take the six male contestants she has picked to support through the show to the party-mad resort of Cancun.
But 40-year-old Beckham, who performed with fellow Spice Girls Brown, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Chisholm at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London has bigger fish to fry. Her new collection will be shown at New York Fashion Week in September and she is also overseeing the launch of her brand's first store on Dover Street in London.
"Victoria has already indicated she won't be able to do it but Mel hopes at least one of the others will help her out," a source told The Sun.
Back in January, Beckham told Vanity fair magazine that she won't have a dalliance as Posh Spice. "I won't do it again. Doing the Olympics was an incredible honour. I was so proud to do it; proud to be British. That was a perfect time to say, 'That's great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.' Sometimes you've got to know when it's time to leave the party."
