Fremont, California Remembering the war against Japanese invaders Gao Zhansheng, China's consul general in San Francisco, and his wife, Wang Yanlai, have their photo taken with a girl performer on July 8 in Fremont, California. About 160 students in the Gold Sail Troupe of Beijing's Haidian Experimental Elementary School gave a concert in memory of the 75th anniversary of Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. On July 7, 1937, Japanese troops initiated the Lugouqiao (Marco Polo Bridge) Incident, an invasion that sparked the eight-year-war. New York Sesame Street boss visits China Daily China Daily reporter Zhang Yuwei shares a laugh with Melvin Ming, CEO of the Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit producer of the award-winning children's program Sesame Street. Two Chinese-language shows with Sesame Street characters, Fun, Fun Elmo and Big Bird Looks at the World, will debut on Sinovision in the US. Sesame Workshop relaunched its programs in China in December 2010 and is now collaborating with Shanghai Media Group to make a version of the show tailored to Chinese children.
