A photographer captures the familial ties that bind people from around the globe, who live in Beijing's international Sanlitun area.

Beijing's Sanlitun area is celebrated as an international community, of which international families are an important part. A photographer has visited more than 150 families of various nationalities and backgrounds in the area to portray how love extends beyond borders.

Jeffery Powell runs a restaurant in Sanlitun. The father of a 5-year-old boy is hailed as a living Lei Feng (Lei was exalted as a model of morality in revolutionary times) for his community service. His wife is from Xi'an, Shaanxi province.

Michel Goncalves is from France. He and his Chinese wife Qiu Jingjing have a 5-year-old son.
