We all know what we eat every day, but not all of us know about the history and spirit of our traditional cuisine - how it was shaped by history and people, what are the right ways to cook well and how it is influenced by modern life and fast food.
Recently, we visited one of Beijing's oldest Lu-style (Shandong) restaurants to find out its relation to Beijing cuisine, and how traditional dishes are surviving in the modern city.
