Wiener lips photo makes for meaty controversy

While most stars don't want to be seen with food on their faces, a photo of Tony Leung depicts food as his face.
That is, his picture has been printed on the packaging of plastic sausage-shaped lips that are flying off Indonesian supermarket shelves, Netease.com reports.
Leung's image was taken - without permission - from a scene in which he wears a thick ring of lipstick around his kisser in the 1993 film The Eagle Shooting Heroes.
A photo of the fake lips' packaging has been bouncing around on Sina.com's Weibo micro blog service, China's version of Twitter. It has been reposted tens of thousands of times a day since it appeared online, by ordinary netizens as well as by such showbiz bigwigs as Gigi Fu, Timmy Hung and Monica Chan.
Leo Ku posted that, "My icon really is a talented comedian! Tony sets the example that I follow. Ha!"
Pop star and actress Lo Man Chong wondered, "Are they edible? I want to taste Tony's lips! Ah hah!"
Perhaps the most delectably strange part is that Leung's wife Carina Lau had posted a photo of sausage just before the frankfurter lips picture emerged. Lau's snapshot was of her chowing down on a hotdog in New York above the caption: "It's really tasty!" Leung's agent says she is aware of the photo and will discuss with lawyers possible legal action against the manufacturers for infringing on the actor's image rights and the film's copyrights.
While the funny business about Leung's lips has been getting giggles on Weibo, the tongue-lashings that vitriolic author Li Ao has been dispensing on his Weibo have continued to elicit scowls.
In his latest crusade, Li attacks Taiwan TV talk show host and writer Tsai Kang-yong, who recently came out of the closet on a talk show Li hosted. The shock jockey writes: "Gays are actually docile and gutless, but become ferocious when they murder their lovers or rivals."
One wonders if rainbow-colored glitter might feature in any of his future book signings.
Li set his sights on Tsai after Tsai defended Dee Hsu from Li's attacks and implied in an interview that he no longer "remembered" Li, Chinanews.com reports.
Tsai "peacefully" responded with the May 20 Weibo message: "Li was once inspirational and influenced many people. While that time has passed, that's how I'd always like to remember him."
Netizens, who reposted the message 8,000 times, mostly called it "ironic". Many say Tsai is a true wordsmith, who can "curse someone without using profanity".
Chinanews.com also reports that with all the ado surrounding the wedding of Taiwan entertainment show host Chen Chien-chou - aka Hei Ren - and singer Christine Fan, the couple forgot one important thing - that is, to actually get married.
The husband and wife hopefuls forgot to register the marriage certificate that would make their union legal.
Chen proposed to his girlfriend of 10 years at an NBA match last year. Their much-anticipated May 7 wedding was attended by a casting call of superstars, including the recently wedded Barbie Hsu and her sister Dee Hsu.
"Fan is not in Taiwan now, and I'm super busy, so we still can't complete the important procedure," Chen explains, adding they'll get to it as soon as Fan returns.
